Jonathon Davis / Owner and Founder
As Owner and Founder of The Yacht Sales Company, Jonathon Davis has 22 years of experience in chartering boats, racing boats, and delivering boats by both power and sail from the Caribbean to the coastal United States. He has logged “over 100,000 sea miles” from Mallorca to Maine to Grenada to Galveston. Jonathon has had tremendous sailing success with more than eight competitive titles to his name. Among these are the Harvest Moon Regatta, Leukemia Cup, Nood Regatta, Heineken Regatta-Saint Marten, Gulfport-Pensacola Race, Heald Bank Offshore Regatta, J24 Southern Circuit, and the Regatta de Amigos-Vera Cruz, Mexico.
Jonathon’s vast knowledge has helped him attain numerous Marine Certifications, including USCG 100 Ton Master’s License; Sailing Endorsement; Commercial Towing Endorsement; STCW 95 Compliant; Red Cross CPR; Red Cross First Aid; Padi Open Water Diver; IKO Level 4; and Sea Explorer Advisor from 1999 to present.
For five years during his career Jonathon provided chartering leadership duties aboard three luxury sailing yachts. In this capacity he has sailed the waters of the world, beginning with a 62’ Ta Chou, 72’ Alden/Goatz. While chartering, Jonathon served as captain and navigator. Additional duties included marketing and client services, maintenance, finances, and administration. Under sail,he was responsible for all sail handling, anchoring, docking, navigating, routing and all deliveries, as well as acting as the onboard sailing instructor.
In addition to his vast background and exceptional career in the boating industry, Jonathon was a licensed sales agent for Farm Bureau Insurance. As a licensed insurance agent, he exceeded performance goals, managing staff; interacting with underwriters; and selling life, property, casualty and health insurance, as well as, annuities. Jonathon has also owned numerous businesses during his career, demonstrating astute leadership acumen and a broad managerial skill set.
Sailing has been Jonathon’s passion since relocating to Clear Lake, Texas after college. He is grateful and excited to have the opportunity to incorporate his passion for sailing and racing into his work life. Jonathon’s years of experience in recreational sailing, cruising, chartering, and competitive racing are second to none. His extensive experience gives him immeasurable insight and expertise to assist the client in articulating their desires and expectations for the best boating solution to meet their needs. As President and Managing Partner, Jonathon is looking forward to The Yacht Sales Company becoming the leading standard when it comes to the boating industry, both on a local and global scale.
Jonathon, his wife and two children reside in the Kemah area of Texas. They feel blessed to be able to give back to the community and have really enjoyed settling into life and career within this vibrant boating center on the Gulf Coast of Texas.
Dave Foulkrod / COO
Dave Foulkrod grew up in a boating family and brings those memories and the joy of the water, to The Yacht Sales Company. His childhood was spent on a neighborhood lake where a walk to the backyard dock provided easy access to the family’s row boat, canoe or sailboat. Dave learned to sail in a little Styrofoam Sea Snark sailboat that had a promotional “Kool” cigarette branded mainsail. In addition the family motorboat had him skiing and involved in other watersports activities. During his college days, Dave moved his sailing experience up a notch sailing a mid-60’s model year, early fiberglass production, Jet class sailboat that he acquired. The Jet carried a mainsail, jib and Spinnaker and was a bit more to handle.
After college it only seemed natural to transition into the boat business where Dave began his marine career January of 1983 as a partner/owner in a startup family yacht sales/service business on Clear Lake, named Ship and Sail. As that business evolved, Dave grew with it working his way up to President of the dealership around the mid to late 90’s and then eventually departing after the sale of the business in 2008. Since the sale of the business, Dave has continued to maintain a foothold in the boat and yacht business over the years. He’s also involved his wife of many years, whom he dated and sailed with back in the jet boat years, plus two now grown children, a son and daughter, in boating/water related activities whenever possible.
Mindful of the importance of supporting the marine industry, Dave volunteered time over the years to serve on various boards and industry initiatives. Dave currently serves on the Board of the Boating Trades Association of Metropolitan Houston and has served almost continuously since 1992, to which he was twice elected to the position of President. He’s currently serving his second consecutive 3 year term on the Houston Boat Show Committee. Dave is a past board member and district representative for the Boating Trades Association of Texas. In 2010 Dave served a six month term on the State Of Texas Boating Safety Council, as appointed by the Lieutenant Governor. Nationally, Dave served 13 years on the board of the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, with 2 of those years’ serving as elected Chairman.
As the newly appointed Chief Operating Officer of The Yacht Sales Company, he will be a welcomed addition to this already established staff with his vast array of experience. He is looking forward to seeing TYSC go to the next level for sales, service and operations.
Bruce Jarman / Power Yacht Sales Manager
Bruce started his boating career in the late 80’s selling boats for a local Sea Ray dealer. That dealer expanded into the Dallas area, and he and his family moved there in 1992 where he was successful in helping to build a community of boaters on Lake Lewisville, which became known around the industry. In the late 90’s, he relocated up to the Midwest working for another Sea Ray dealer on beautiful Lake Osark, Mo. Although he did well there, he missed his Texas roots, so he moved back to the Houston area. Bruce has been back in the Kemah area for the past 12 years selling boats in Clear Lake area. His knowledge of boats as will as his long experience, will help both buyers and sellers make the right decision in their purchasing process.
As a new addition to The Yacht Sales Company team, Bruce will be a welcomed addition as the Power Yacht Sales Manager. He will lead the way for the company’s new addition of EdgeWater Power Boats and he knows that this is a great opportunity for new growth within The Yacht Sales Company dealership.
Evan Macaluso / Operations Manager
Having been born into a sailing family here in the Houston Area, Evan learned, at an early age, to walk on the docks of Seabrook Sailing Club. He had a love for the water from an early age and has been sailing in and around the Galveston Bay Area both competitively and recreationally ever since. From meager beginnings in dinghy class boats out of Kemah, to the graduation of larger cruising class boats, Evan amassed a number of accolades in competitive sailing both in local and regional regattas. He was accomplished both screw as well as skipper in events ranging from shorty course races to long range open water regattas.
After earning his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License and his American Sailing Associations instructor certifications, Evan channeled his passion for sailing into a thriving sailing business here in Kemah, Tx. Offering fractional sailing and top notch rated sailing instruction to Houston and the Bay Area of Houston, Evan’s business has earned a reputation as the premier fractional sailing club and school in the Galveston Bay area.
Captain Evan brings his years of sailing and business experience here to The Yacht Sales Company, SailTime Houston, and Discover Sailing School. He has a strong desire to grow the local sailing community through quality business and personal relationships with confident and competent instruction.
Pat O’Neal / CPYB
Pat O’Neal has fourteen plus years of experience when it comes to boating and sales. His love for and experience with sailing on the Bay, Texas coast and other seas, makes him a perfect fit for The Yacht Sales Company team of certified professional brokers. He finds delight in sharing the wonder and excitement of the watery world with people seeking to enjoy the world of boating. Pat enjoys finding the solution for each of his client’s needs. He finds the whole experience exciting and personally rewarding. He is ready to have a good time, working to delight his clients and satisfy each new stage in one’s boating experience!
“Sailboat” Mike Shebester / Yacht Sales Manager/CPYB
If a nickname implies an earned identity, “Sailboat Mike” would be someone most people associate with sailing only; but, “Sailboat Mike” has a passion for all types of boating. He learned to sail 35 years ago. Since then, he has been active in both cruising and racing boats. He has lived aboard a variety of boats for the last fourteen years, achieving a solid perspective when it comes to choosing a boat for both comfort and reliability. What “Sailboat Mike” loves about boating is the versatility and challenge. It can be either the most relaxing or physically demanding activity one can enjoy.
“Sailboat Mike” started his career in yacht sales, representing Beneteau Sailboats, in 1992. With over 22 years of sales experience, “Sailboat Mike” is a perfect fit for the dynamic sales team at The Yacht Sales Company. He has had a very successful sailing career, proving his mettle at sea. He does not, however, consider himself a high pressure salesman. “Sailboat Mike” enjoys a personal relationship with his clients as they move through the process of selecting the appropriate boating solution of the individual client’s choice. They do not hesitate to consult him for product knowledge or when it is time to upgrade or purchase a different model. His capability to be an effective listener enables him to identify what features the client wants and how the boat will be used. He taps into his expertise and product knowledge to steer the client to the right boat and the perfect fit to the pure delight of the client. “Sailboat Mike” stands ready to assist you with all your boating needs.
Raul Smith has been sailing for over 50 years. He loves the water so much that he is an actual live aboard on his beautiful Beneteau Sense 46. He never meets a stranger and always has a smile on his face.
As a former Naval Reserve Officer he continued his love of the sea by becoming an avid sailing and scuba instructor. His life has always revolved around the water. He excelled in teaching and certainly enjoys helping and being of service to get you into the vessel of your needs. He also has an excellent history in competing as he raced an Ultra Light Displacement Sailboat, an Olson 30.
Raul enjoys establishing relationships with his clients and is always ready and available to find the perfect boat, take you on a sail and to make sure that you have the best possible experience to find the boat of your dreams.
Alevtina Brown / North Texas Yacht Sales
Alevtina Brown or Alya for short, fell in love and found her passion for sailing at a very early age while sailing laser yachts and the 470 class at her local Volgodonsk’s Yacht-Club near her home in the Rostov region of Russia. Little did she know some years later yachting would become her life and her true calling.
Alya began selling power boats and yachts in 2005 after she made a big move to Moscow then deciding to change career paths. One day she asked herself honestly, “What kind of job am I dreaming about? What would I enjoy doing for the rest of my life? I want to love my job, but what should I do?”, she thought yachting was her dream job, but it seemed unattainable. She could not have been more wrong and has been in the yachting industry ever since!
Her career with yachts started with an invitation to help with a Moscow boat show as a trial period. The company was astounded by her passion for the industry and hired her on the spot as a full time staff member. She worked her way up from a personal assistant to the Sales and Marketing Director representing different British, Finish, Swedish, Italian, American, Polish brands as an exclusive dealer or distributor. She frequently traveled around Europe visiting factories of the Manufacturers, International Boat Shows (Moscow, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Dusseldorf, Helsinki); Events and Dealer meetings (Italy, Sweden, Sicily, Cyprus, England, Norway, Poland, Latvia, France..). She can now say that she has extensive experience in intercultural communication in the yachting industry.
In 2015 Alya made an even bigger move, she came all the way to the United States and settled in Dallas, Texas. She came hoping to continue her career in her cherished yachting industry. She was introduced to The Yacht Sales Company team in the Fall of 2016 at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and found us to be like-minded, friendly, hospitable and a professional team of sellers and sailors. Soon after the Lauderdale show ended she became part of the team officially. Now she is a representative of The Yachts Sales Company in North Texas area, working with both sailing and motor yachts and boats. Hoping to apply her experience and skills in her new homeland.
